usb2lpt device ( highspeed option of https://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~heha/basteln/PC/USB2LPT/ )
I did try this adapter using win xp and it did work, but is quite slow (8 seconds
to read 2764 eprom an all07)
Any USB-Parallel adapter ( even if you could make it work) will be SLOW as the
USB buffering will get in the way.

There are many C51 cores with USB built-in, look at our web reference page : A http://www.designtools.co.nz/overview.htm
Cypress have some good ones, and someone was offering a PCB module, with their USB2 engine recently. These are RAM based, and boot over the USB.
You do not state if you need ADC or not ? For PWM, the FX core, as found in T89C51RD2 is good, and that has ISP built in, so you'll need to use the programmer as a paper weight.
