https://github.com/DennisD2/AndoPromacUI Ihe "Promac Model 2A" seems to be 100% identical to another japanese programmer, called "Ando AF-9704 Eprom Programmer". I own the Ando device and compared images that can be found in the internet of PCB and inside elements of these two devices. Even the part numbers and PCB printed text are equal ("R104", "C12" and such).
There is a big chip inside, from Ando company, in both devices, even in the Promac device. So I guess Ando was original producer, but allowed reselling with the Promac brand.
Latest firmware of Promac devices was 21.9, and this firmware does also work if burned onto the two EPROMS U10 and U11 in the Ando device. I did this, because my Ando programmer had firmware 21.7 and the version 21.9 adds support for 2MB and 4MB chips.
I never got the original software, and wrote some simple UI for it to have Up- and Downloads of EPROM data. This code can be found here https://github.com/DennisD2/AndoPromacUI, beware its more a proof of concept. (This is a stand-alone programmer, and can be controlled just with some simple commands via RS232, so software is not really required.)
This is a nice programmer, and it has no issues writing even really vintage EPROMS like 2516, 2532 and 2716.
